BJP Mahila Morcha leader expelled after she asks Hindu men to gang-rape Muslim women

...…........... In a screenshot of the post that has been shared by a Twitter user, Gaur said: “There is only one solution for them (Muslims). Hindu brothers should make a group of 10 and gang rape their (Muslims) mothers and sisters openly on the streets…and then hang her in the middle of the bazaar for others to see.”
Gaur added that “if we need to protect India” then Hindu men must rape Muslim women.
“There is no other way,” she added.
Gaur has now deleted the post.

What the Zaira Wasim controversy reveals about contemporary India

The teenage Muslim actress's decision to quit Bollywood for faith reasons brought India's Islamophobia to the fore.

On Sunday, Zaira Wasim, an 18-year-old Kashmiri Muslim Bollywood actress, caused a stir in India by announcing her decision to "disassociate" from the film industry. The actor took to Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to declare that while the five years of being in the industry had brought her a "lot of love, support and applause", it had also led her to a "path of ignorance" as she had transitioned out of "imaan" (faith) and her relationship with her religion.

Don’t Just Condemn the New Zealand Attacks — Politicians and Pundits Must Stop Their Anti-Muslim Rhetoric

….. Whether or not this manifesto turns out to be a trap, designed for the purposes of trolling, baiting, and “shitposting,” as Bellingcat’s Robert Evans has argued, there is no denying that it is a hate-filled screed. It is vile, viciously anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant, and unhinged.

But what it is not is shocking. There is nothing shocking about it. How can there be? Have you not been paying attention? Much of his rhetoric and references are borrowed from the political and media mainstream — especially here in the United States....

When I read his manifesto, I couldn’t help but think of high-profile American politicians, such as the president of the United States who said, “Islam hates us,” referred to “people coming out of mosques with hatred and death in their eyes and on their minds,” and compared a caravan of migrants to an “invasion.” Or Sen. Ted Cruz, who called on “law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized.” Or Sen. Marco Rubio who said he was in favor of “closing down anyplace — whether it’s a cafe, a diner, an internet site — anyplace where radicals are being inspired.” Or Sen. Lindsey Graham who declared: “If I have to monitor a mosque, I’ll monitor a mosque.” Or former Gov. Mike Huckabee who described Muslims in the Middle East coming out of mosques on Fridays “like uncorked animals.” Or even former President Bill Clinton, who suggested at the Democratic National Convention in 2016 that Muslim-American citizenship was contingent on good behavior and proving loyalty: “If you’re a Muslim and you love America and freedom and you hate terror, stay here and help us win and make a future together.”

Mosque shooter brandished material glorifying Serb nationalism

Song played in suspect's car before shooting praises convicted Bosnian Serb war criminal Radovan Karadzic.

The Australian suspect who shot dead dozens of Muslim worshippers in Christchurch, New Zealand, is believed to have been inspired by historical figures who fought against Muslims, among others, as well as a convicted Serb war criminal responsible for the genocide in Srebrenica in 1995.

…. Among the names seen on the weaponry were several Serb military figures, including Milos Obilic, a national hero in Serbian folklore who fought against the Ottomans, most notably in the 1389 Battle of Kosovo when he killed the Ottoman Sultan Murad I.

Military leaders who led uprisings against the Ottoman Empire such as Marko Miljanov Popovic, Novak Vujosevic and Bajo Pivljanin, praised in Serbian epic poetry, were also marked on the assault rifle.

Prior to the shooting, a video on Twitter showed the gunman driving and playing a song honouring Radovan Karadzic, a convicted Bosnian Serb war criminal and first president of Republika Srpska during the Bosnian war in the early 1990s.

…. Political scientist Jasmin Mujanovic commented on Twitter that the markings on the suspect's rifle were "steeped in toxic, faux-historical narratives about 'defending' white Christendom".

According to Balkan Insight, "Serb nationalists enjoy cult status among many far-right groups in Europe where they are admired for their militancy, extreme Islamophobia and - most importantly - for having put words into action in the 1990s, when Serb nationalist paramilitaries killed thousands of Muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo."

Chinese Islamophobia was made in the West

China is using western counter-terror strategies targeting Muslims as justification for its Uighur concentration camps.

... China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi defended the country's actions, stating, "the efforts are completely in line with the direction the international community has taken to combat terrorism ...

... Other Chinese officials defended their country's actions, claiming that Islam is an "ideological illness," positioning the concentration camps as "hospitals" needed to "cure" people from this sickness.

.... Viewing Islam as an abnormality and the cause of "extremism," is not exclusive to China, rather it finds its home in the West's Countering Violence Extremism (CVE) programs, which view expressions of Muslim identity as uniquely associated with "extremism" and "radicalisation." Programs aimed at "preventing extremism," have resulted in the stigmatisation and criminalisation of Muslim communities.

... Today's public discourse on terrorism consists of a fixation on Islam and the expression of Muslim identity as indicators of "extremism," "radicalisation," and "terrorism". It is not a line of thought constrained to the People's Republic of China, rather this viewpoint permeates much of Western academic research and policies.

... In 2011, a US government white paper likened the hijab to "passive terrorism." .... Politicians and activists who support such measures argue that a piece of cloth is equal to violence and thus pass legislation that forces women to undress, resulting in the gross violation of individuals' human rights. Such policies are built on a false and unfounded premise that identifies markers attributed to Muslim identity (growing a beard, attending mosque, wearing a hijab, etc) as indicators of "radicalisation" and "extremism." China too has adopted this framework as veils and "abnormal" beards are forbidden in the Xinjiang region.

... n 2014, Oklahoma state representative, John Bennett, described Islam as a "cancer in our nation that needs to be cut out." Donald Trump's former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn described Islam as a "malignant cancer," and asserted that "fear of Muslims is RATIONAL". A 2016 tweet from Flynn shares eery similarities to China's current claims, as he declares "Islamic ideology [is] sick and must B healed". In 2015 on The Kelly File, conservative political commentator Glenn Beck argued that there is a "disease in Islam" and it must be addressed. Such dangerous claims pathologising a belief system are not restricted to the United States. In March 2017, far-right Australian politician, Pauline Hanson, stated: "Islam is a disease; we need to vaccinate ourselves against that." In 2017, Caroline Santos, a candidate for United Kingdom's right-wing UKIP, described Islam as a "cancer" in a tweet praising far-right figure Tommy Robinson.....

.... Noted anti-Muslim figures like Ayan Hirsi Ali and Asra Nomani have also attributed common Muslim phrases of "Allahu Akbar," (God is Great), and 'inshAllah" (God willing) as being associated with extremism and terrorism.

... China is instituting the very calls made by western politicians to "cut out" Islam, by criminalising any expression of Muslim identity, including removing Qurans from people's homes, restricting fasting during the month of Ramadan, and forbidding Muslim parents from giving their children Muslim names. In an effort to "heal" Muslims from this "dangerous ideology," the government has established 28 detention camps, described by Amnesty International as comparable to "wartime concentration camps....

Opinion: Blaming European anti-Semitism on Palestinians and Muslims

The German and Austrian far right is incorporating Zionism into ultranationalism to whitewash its bloody past.

In November 2018, a conference entitled Europe beyond anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism: Securing Jewish life in Europe, organised by Austria's right-wing government, was held in the Austrian capital, Vienna. The one-day event wrapped up with the issuing of a final communique which stressed that Austria is committed to "fighting every form of anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism" and claimed that "anti-Semitism is nowadays oftentimes manifest in exaggerated and disproportionate criticism against Israel."

Escape from Xinjiang: Muslim Uighurs speak of China persecution

Testimonies by Muslim Uighurs who escaped Xinjiang confirm reports of 'systematic campaign of human rights violations'.

… Tarim's testimony about what's happening to the Uighurs in Xinjiang, and interviews with two Uighur women in Istanbul, also line up with Human Rights Watch's (HRW) latest report accusing China of "conducting a mass, systematic campaign of human rights violations", against the Turkic-speaking Muslim minority Group.

…. Tarim's testimony bolsters HRW's latest report, which claims that as many as one million people are being held in "camps" across China's western Region.

…. State-backed media referred to the camps as "counter-extremism training centres", while critics call them "concentration camps".

…. "The Chinese government is committing human rights abuses in Xinjiang on a scale unseen in the country in decades," Sophie Richardson, China director at Human Rights Watch, said in the report.
